Hey everyone! We're back after 3 years with quite a big changelog to Katjepult after a burst of energy to work on the game again. For now these are just updates to the WebGL version but we'll update the Windows build on itch.io this week. We hope you enjoy all the new changes so far!

    • Blue Fish +10
    • Purple Fish +25
  • Re-adjusted all parallax layers as a part of the refactor.
  • Added a high score and personal best system.
  • Removed the embroidery hoop to increase screen space.
  • Created a chunk scrolling system that includes:
    • x3 Easy chunks
    • x2 Hard chunks
    • x2 Risk vs Reward chunks
    • x1 Tutorial chunk
  • Added birds that fly away from the player character.
  • Wave layers in the background now animate up and down.
  • Foliage on platforms now animates.
  • There is now a meow wow countdown at the start of the game to prepare for a run!
  • Mountains now slowly parallax across the scene the further players get.
  • Player character hitboxes and platforms have been slightly tweaked.
  • Scroll speed has been tweaked as a part of the refactor.

Main Menu Scene:

  • New UI Layout to accommodate for highscores and personal best displays
  • Background in the Main Menu now has a scrolling shader.
  • Game logo now animates.
  • Added version number to be displayed.

Miscellaneous:

  • Rebuilt and refactored entire project to offer more control over level design, pacing and scene management.
  • Changed the global typeface use for more clarity.
  • We're using sprite atlas' now so overall build size and batches should be lower.
